We spent the perfect day in a charming little town in the North Carolina mountains. We have never visited West Jefferson before. We will be going back.

The place and the people were lovely.
There are shops full of art and clothing.

If you get hungry or thirsty there are quite a few cafes and ice cream shops and a giant cheese, candy and wine store.

I was there to see the many murals. I did not photograph all of them.

Flowers were planted in containers and planters everywhere. These were amazingly well-maintained. That feat impressed me since it is almost July.

I had to pause several times to keep from getting overwhelmed. There was so much to see! I am glad it was not crowded on a Tuesday afternoon.

What a great way to spend a day!

The murals are beautiful! And a cheese, candy, and wine store–perfect.

A fine selection of photographs. The figure with the two revolvers looks like a Mexican day of death piece

That store was very interesting. The motorcycle collage was there also.
I need to get back there in the fall. Loved it so much.

What a beautiful town. More small towns should make an effort as they did to beautify their towns.

It is such a great spot. We ate outside at a bistro named Red Dog. Amazing tea, burgers and hand made chips.

Giving is so much sweeter than getting.
I saw the moon tonight; it was magical!

West Jefferson really does a nice job with its plantings! The stores look fun too. Glad you had a good time.

My husband and I spent a night with a couple in their cabin in West Jefferson many years ago. We picked blueberries in their backyard and had a nice cookout, but we actually didn’t see anything of the town itself.
