We have been watching the water recently.
It has been putting on a show. The show is green.
I sit and watch the green shifting and moving along the shore.

We debate whether it is algae or pollen.
My vote is for pollen.

It is small and uniform.

The sample my neighbor gave me in a jar should have grown exponentially by now if it were algae.
It is fascinating to watch.

Come for a swim?

I’d bet on pollen; I’m 99.99% certain that’s what it is. It happens here at certain times of the year. The pine pollen can be especially heavy, and the abstract patterns it forms on the water are beautiful. Scroll down a bit in this post and you’ll find a photo of pollen in my marina.

Now that is a lotta ragweed pollen! No wonder folks are suffering from allergies. Intriguing patterns, though.
