When everybody leaves
and you are alone with yourself
will you be quietly content
with who you are?
Can you keep yourself company?
Will you know your own voice?
Will you be solid or hollow?
Will you have the strength to sit quietly alone
or will you feel the need to leave yourself
and seek other company?
Everybody leaves.
Who will you be then?

When everybody leaves, I feel sad and lonely! But also grateful and a tiny bit relieved. And you see I turn to my social media for some comfort, too.

Ha! You better be looking inward sis. Fakebook won’t save you.

There is always someone you can depend on – if you but look – so you will not be alone. Lovely, but haunting poem.

So true, and yet, ‘they’ will do all they can to disabuse you of your self-love. God forbid, you take care of yourself! 😉
