Broken Open Not Broken

No worries followers. The revision surgery went great. I have a PT assessment this morning with my fun physical therapist. I will be fine.

The events in the news have cracked me open. There are people who are unable to see the world through the same lense I peer through. They know not what they do.

Getting along. Staying strong.

If I ever do get a tattoo; it will be about Melissa Hortman, her husband, Mark, and her dog, Gilbert. We need to do all we can to keep souls like hers with us in this broken world.

More hate will not help. Stand firm in your truths. Stand in front of our non-white, non-rich, non-dicotamous brothers and sisters.

Breathe in their pain and breathe out love and hope.

FLOWER

PS: Today is mine and Mr. FLOWER’S 40th anniversary. We went out last night. Under that flowery dress is a loooong line of itchy stitches.

The FLOWERS for 40!

  1. Sorry you had to have your hip done again. Mine hasn’t been too bad, but I have pain when taking a walk. I can garden just fine. I taught all minority kids and I worry about them, even though most are in their 40s now. We had a Hispanic crew working on our house for weeks. They were like family and even fed my husband lunch. In Texas we are used to being with Hispanic and many other nationalities and don’t think twice about it. Anthony Bourdain did a beautiful show on Houston showing a big mix of everyone. Although he did not cover Yankee transplants as I was called. Ha ha!

    1. Yes. I have things to say about that.
There is something about 40 years that makes people turn around and look where they have come from.
My perspective has been reframed by recent events. That is my next book.
