Every fall just as the days get shorter and the flowers start dying
a glorious angel appears in my garden.
The season becomes brighter because of her blooms.
Her name is Jean May.
She is a Camellia sasanqua.
When the darkness of fall starts to dampen my spirits,
Jean May comes to my rescue,
to remind me everything has its season.
I love Jean May with all my heart.
She is a blessing.

Beautiful! I had a fall-flowering camelia in my old home that bloomed every year around Otober right around our Indian festival Diwali (the Festival of lights). I miss her at our new home,

Another reader mentioned the same thing. Too bad we have to leave plants behind when we move.

I love Jean May, too. She must be 15? feet tall.

Fall and winter are really hard on my psyche, even living in NC..i would not survive up north.

I barely hang on here… by January I’m climbing the walls. Thank God for air travel. 😉

Wow! That’s so big and sooooo beautiful. I have a couple of Camelia susquana but mine are small and in pots. I’ve never seen such a fabulous example as yours.
