Florence has left us.
I feel such gratefulness that we ourselves were spared
the devastation experienced by so many others.
The sunshine is a welcome sight after days of darkness.
I must admit, I did not stay inside during the deluge.
This should not come as a surprise to my readers.
Over and over again I strode into the storm to check plants and ditches,
necessary for my sanity if for no other reason.
I am happy to report
the banana forest is still upright
the vines are still clinging
and way up in a tree
a certain nest is still intact.
Way to go Mama Squirrel!

Wonderful to hear you are safe! The squireel and garden faired well in the storm too.

Good news! We are due to get a soaking from Florence in the next 24 hours. Some forecasts are up to 6″ but as we know, they love to hype these things. Time will tell. Let’s hope it isn’t as much as your 4+ inches. Did you get a lot of wind?

That would have been full and over-flowing, but the rain gauge had a crack in it. Typically!

Oh, that seemed surprisingly low, lol!

Not as much wind as we feared. Only small branches fell. So happy it is over. Good luck there.

I am always out in the hurricanes with a greyhound who needs to pee. The raw power is amazing. Glad you made it.
