This Appple Blossom Amaryllis has subtle colors, so it does not scream if planted in a perrennial bed.
Whites look great against greenery with other white flowers.This one will go in partial shade, surrounded by ferns near our small fish pond.
I have many bright Amaryllis in the garden. I refer to these as the clowns. I still love them, but they do scream for attention. See link below.

I planned on doing only one Amaryllis blog post this spring.
The Minerva group has been showing off.
The Monte Carlos bloomed in their crazy red and white costumes.
Moonscene bloomed twice while waiting for Picotee.
Both Apple Blossoms burst out with their usual shimmer.
Finally, Picotee showed its face. I love that tiny rim of red.
Amaryllis blooms stand out anywhere and I have them everywhere.

May is definitely circus month for my Amaryllis.
The clowns are putting on their biggest show ever.
Monte Carlo has on its brightest red and white costume. Pink Surprise is pretty in flashy pink. Apple Blossom is the rice between spice.
Minerva has formed a crowd above the stone wall.
Charisma has toned down the contrast of its costume with a blending of pigments.
Monte Carlo refuses to blend in with the surroundings.
Apple Blossom has too much dignity to clown around and show off.
I consider it the amaryllis for all locations.
I love each amaryllis for its own character.
Stay tuned. There are more beside the pond surrounded by ferns.

I am so happy to have anything blooming in January, even if it is inside.
My lovely Apple Blossom Amaryllis/Hippeastrum is blooming again.
The second stalk has produced six more blooms.
The last bud has not opened yet and is sticking up to give its five sisters space to spread out.
I love the delicate white petals and pinkish veins, but what I really admire is the shimmer.
The petals look as though they have been dusted with a fine glitter.
When the sun hits the blooms they truly glow.
