A Seat with a View

I rode the twisting and turning back roads in the mountains this afternoon. I jumped out of the car to capture the photo. Then I looked behind me to see this chair. It is tucked in the shrubs peeking out at this glorious view.

A kindred spirit placed this chair here. This person sits here in this secluded spot looking across the same gorge that I look across.

Only I am looking back at them from the swing on my porch. Life is funny like that. I am capturing their view with my camera and they are marveling at the ridge I live on from this secluded seat.

FLOW

Fall in the North Carolina Mountains

We always make a trip to the mountains in October. This trip is a bit different. There is evidence of Hurricane Helene scattered about. Some sites and trails we usually visit are closed.
The weather could not be more perfect. These lively warm days must be a balm for the many who were terrorized by water and wind.

I will enjoy this time here being thankful that some of the places I love are undamaged and others will be restored by these resilient mountain residents in these precious little towns and the National Park Service.

FLOW

A Mountain Town

Blowing Rock is full of flowers.

I always look forward to strolling along while enjoying the lovely combinations.

There are planters and gardens everywhere.

September is especially lovely because of the cool weather.

There are many places to eat, shop or people watch.

Blowing Rock is a charming little mountain town.

I am always inspired by my visits there.
